Beltangady, 13 Apr 2017: MLA K N Rajanna led delegation from drought-hit taluks of Karnataka including Madhugiri and Koratagere met Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade and plead his support for executing Yettinahole project, here, on Wednesday, April 12.
The delegation explained Heggade about the acute shortage of drinking water for both people and livestock and urged him to support Yettinahole project to become a reality.
Heggade said that the scarcity of water was resulted from excess use of water resources, sparse rains and lack of rain water harvesting. It’s the nature’s response for human greed. He also said that its through Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), the desilting of 100 nature ponds are under way in Karnataka, while it would be done in Madhugiri taluk in 2018.
