Udupi, 30 Mar 2017: Vishwasadamane rehabilitation centre, Shankerpura, near here reunited a destitute youth from Uttar Pradesh (UP) on Monday, March 26.
Thirty-year-old mentally ill Goutam was found by a certain Ganesh Shetty at Kadabettu, here on December 30, 2016, who was pelting stones on passersby and was a public nuisance. Shetty had brought Goutam to Vishwasadamane, while their staff had horrific time controlling him, but managed to bathe and make him dress nice clothes. He was fed properly, subjected to health checkup and began psychiatric treatment. The love and care of staff gained his confidence in sharing his family address including mobile number in UP.
The staff contacted his family in UP and arrived here to take him home. Pankaj Kumar Ram, brother of Goutam arrived here on Tuesday, March 28, to take him to their family. ‘Goutam had gone missing since many months and we are happy to find him here,’ said Pankaj. He also thanked Vishwasadamane chief functionary Pastor Sunil D’Souza and their staff for giving new lease of life to Gautam.
