Mangaluru, 06 Jan 2017: The civic authority proposed to build new Market at Urwa, here, at a cost of Rs 12 crore and the existing shops will be shifted to temporary location on Saturday, January 14, said MLA J R Lobo.
Addressing the media persons at the temporary market in Urwa, here on Thursday, January 5, MLA Lobo said, ‘The construction of new market would have to be ready by December 2017. He urged the shopkeepers to relocate to temporary market at the earliest.
The aim is to build state-of-the-art municipal market. The shopkeepers had to co-operate in this regard, said MLA Lobo.
MUDA chairman Suresh Ballal, municipal commissioner Srikant, corporator Radhakrishna, KSRTC director T K Sudhir, contractor Asif were present.
