Karkala, 30 Nov 2016: The worship centers indeed rekindle social values with spiritual awakening. The education plays key role in forming well cultured society. The early schooling lays strong foundation on children to lead well cultured and socially responsible lives. The religious centers since ancient times laid emphasis on education. The religious centers significantly contributed in education and societal concern, said Kadari Ravindra Prabhu, chairman of Rajapura Saraswat Credit Co-operative Bank, here.
Ravindra was speaking during during the free distribution of uniforms to over 700 students of 13 primary schools by Umamaheshwara and Durgaparameshwari temple, Adapady, Palli, near here on Monday, November 28.
The temple managing trustee Pundalika Nayak inaugurated the programme.
The veteran intellectual P Marate in his preliminary address said that the temple has been donating uniforms to all Kannada medium schools in the neighborhood since the past 16 years besides free food offerings.
The temple priest Mrugesh Bhat Laxmipura, entrepreneur Sakharam Shetty Dendoorkatte, Udbav Constructions proprietor Srisha Nayak, Goa entrepreneur Nitin Shetty, Ramakrishna Nayak of Geethanjali, Suvardhan Nayak, Kairebettu School head teacher Sasikala Shetty were present.
The temple priest Ranjit Bhat welcomed the gathering. Vishnuprasad Bhat compered the programme. The temple priest Hariprasad Bhat proposed vote of thanks.
