Mangaluru, 29 Oct 2016: Dr Vasanthkumar Perla, assistant station director and programme head of Akashvani - Mangaluru has been conferred the tile ‘Karavaliya Kalpatharu’ by Sneha Samskrutika Sangha, Bengaluru and Nethranjali Dance Academy, Hyderabad in a befitting function at Hyderabad.
The function, ‘South Indian Cultural Festival – 2016’ was held at Sundaraiah Science Centre, Hyderabad on Sunday, October 24 and witnessed by a large gathering comprised both Kannada and Telugu people.
‘Dr Perla is working in the literary and cultural field since the past 40 years and marked his footprints as a media person and as a writer and poet too. His works involve in the field of research, compilations and prose as well,’ said Harikrishna Punarooru, past president of Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishath, while presenting the title.
Nagadeepika, well known advocate of Hyderabad participated as chief guest and other scores of luminaries were present on the dais.
The gathering was witnessed with day-long Classical Dances by individuals and reputed dance troupes of South India.
