Mangaluru, 10 Oct 2016: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who was in the coastal city of Mangaluru on Sunday had reportedly made plans on visiting Kudroli temple for the inauguration of the Dasara programme, but changed his plans at the last minute and returned to Bengaluru without visiting the temple.
The incident has left senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary fuming.
However, sources say that though there was no planned visit, the temple authorities received information that the CM would be visiting Gokanarnanatheshwara temple. Poojary alleged that the CM changed his plans after visiting another Congress leader’s house. It is said that the function at the temple was scheduled to begin at 6.30 pm and authorities waited for CM Siddaramaiah till about 6.50 and when they were informed that he would not be attending, they continued with the ceremony.
Poojary said that he wanted to pray that Siddaramaiah continued in power for several more years, but by skipping the temple programme he had neglected peoples’ feelings.
