Karkala, 22 Sep 2016: The gram panchayat members of Tenka, including president Aruna Kumari visited the power plant of UPCL – Adani Group, at Yellur, near here on Wednesday September 21. The visit was arranged under Udan programme.
UPCL joint chairman Kishore Alva briefed about the background and objective of Udan programme, infrastructural developments under corporate social responsibility (CSR), promoting rural games, contributing for educational and health needs.
The technical staff of UPCL power plant briefed about the functioning of different units. They also have taken them around the fly-ash unit that is being converted into a lush greenery.
Mudarangady social activist Mark D’Souza, Tenka gram panchayat vice president Kishore Kumar, members Ratnakar Kotian, Saira, Gunavati, Anita A Nayak, PDO Rajani, Mudarangady resident Lilly D’Souza, UPCL assistant general manager Girish Navada, deputy general manager Sudarshan Prasad, manager Ravi Jireh, Adani Foundation staff Vineet Anchan and Sukesh Suvarna were present.
The visitors laid the saplings in the premises.
