Bellare, 08 August 2010: ’’Human values are on the verge of collapse. We find selfish behaviour and hatred all over. Amidst this atmosphere, the tiny village of Bellare has become witness to all religion marriage,’’ said Union Minister of State for Home Mullapalli Ramachandra. Speaking at the all religion marriage organised by RM Group at Bellare, he stressed the need to put an end to extravagant marriage along with dowry.
About 30 couples entered into wedlock at the all religion marriage. Nikha was held amidst more than 15 Muslim religious heads at 9 am. Mangalore Khazi Shaikuna Twakha Ahammed Musliyar, Mangalore Adi Chunchanagiri Mutt’s Dharmapalanatha Swamiji, Priest Rev Fr Santhosh D’Souza blessed the couples. R M Group provided 8 pawans of gold and Rs 26,000 to each couple at the wedding.
A model groom
Of the 30 couples who entered into wedlock, Vishwanath of Moodubelle tied nuptial knot to a handicapped girl Kusuma from Avanje.
Specialities
- 22 Muslim, 7 Hindu and One Christian couple entered into wedlock;
- Former CM H D Kumaraswamy who was scheduled to take part in the marriage could not participate as his chopper could not land owing to inclement weather condition. The helicopter returned to Bangalore. From Bangalore, he wished the couple over phone;
- Religious heads of three religion wished the couple;
- Only the bridegroom were asked to come to the stage;
- White doves were released to mark the inauguration of the programme;
- The marriage was held in the style of respective religion;
