Karkala, 29 Aug 2016: Nobel Laureate Mother Theresa served the humanity for many decades working among the poor and downtrodden. Her noble deeds are indeed inspiration for us, said N M Hegde, Lions Club International (LCI) district past secretary.
Hegde was the chief guest during the birth anniversary celebration of Mother Theresa that was organized by LCI – Belman, at St Joseph’s School auditorium, Belman, near here on Sunday August 28.
Speaking on the occasion, the senior teacher Pundalika Marate said, ‘India is the abode of sages and visionaries who lived saintly lives on earth. Mother Theresa who set foot in India as a teacher had served the poor, sick and oppressd, downtrodden in her lifetime. She saw divine presence in them. It’s the great honor for our country in sainthood of Mother Theresa.’
LCI – Belman president Mukund Kamat presided the programme.
The School head teacher Sr Lucy thanked LCI – Belman for organizing the celebration of Mother Theresa’s birth anniversary.

The local Convent superior Sr Usha Stella, students and teachers, staff were present.
