Udupi, 06 Jul 2016: ‘A teacher should not limit his profession till his retirement, instead he has to continue contributing for societal progress even after retirement,’ said Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.
Bishop Dr Lobo was speaking during farewell function of Dr Nerri Cornelio, principal and II grade assistant Ramachandra of Milagres College, Kallianpur, here on Tuesday July 5.
Udupi diocesan Catholic Education Society secretary Fr Dr Lawrence D’Souza was the chief guest, lauded the contributions of Dr Cornelio and Ramachandra while serving in their own capacities for the progress of Milagres College.
Bishop Dr Lobo felicitated both Dr Cornelio and Ramachandra by draping shawl, adorning Mysore attire, presenting fruits and mementoes.
Rosalia Cardoza and Professor Melvyn Rego read the felicitation address on behalf of students and lecturers respectively. Both Dr Cornelio and Ramachandra acknowledged the honour with humility.
Milagres education institutions correspondent Fr Stany B Lobo, College campus director Fr Anil Prakash Castelino, alma mater president Allen Vijay Lewis, PTA president Shekar Baikady, secretary Charlotte Mathias, SMilagres PU College principal Savita, students’ union directors Subramanya Joshi and Annamma were present at the dais.
