Puttur, 25 Jun 2016: The inaugural function of Students’ Council 2016-17 of St Philomena Pre-University College, here was held at College auditorium on Saturday June 25.
The Assistant Commissioner and sub divisional Magistrate of Puttur Dr Rajendra K V inaugurated and said, ‘Every part of human life is very important in this competitive world. Every student must prepare well to achieve dreams, desires and ambitions. Moreover, we must develop civic responsibility.’
The principal of Government Pre-University College, Balmatta, Mangaluru P P Joseph participated as the chief guest. He said, ‘Every child possesses a bundle of talents. It is the duty of everyone to identify and develop one’s talents.’
The campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro said, ‘Intelligence, integrity and industriousness helps to achieve great success in our life.’
The principal of St Philomena College Professor Leo Noronha said, ‘The greatest danger is insensitivity among our youth. Everyone must try to become a living story, so that others will be motivated in the society.’
The correspondent of the College Fr Alfred J Pinto presided and wished the new office-bearers.
The principal of the College Fr Vijay Lobo administered the oath to the office bearers.

Vinola Amitha Lobo and group sang the prayer song. The president of the Council Siddanth S Shetty welcomed the gathering. The secretary Anupama Pai introduced the chief guest. The joint secretary Deepa Bhat proposed the vote of thanks. Ayishathul Shameema compered the programme. The directors of Students’ Council - Bharath Kumar A and Usha A have co-ordinated in the programme.
