Udupi, 07 April 2016: The Internet of Things (IoT) Club at Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakalm near here was inaugurated by Chandrashekhar Rao Kuthyar, lead consultant, SangamOne Private Limited, Bengaluru on Wednesday April 6.
In his inaugural address, Kuthyar exhorted the students to come up with new dreams, which in turn would become ideas and eventually evolve as projects and finally materialize into products. Delivering an invited talk on Internet of Things on the occasion, Kuthyar said that machine to machine interaction was the trend of the day, which was the essence of IoT.
Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of SMVITM hoped that the Club would become a unique one and lead SMVITM to become a pioneer of IoT in the region.
Professor A Ganesha, dean (academics), said that the IoT Club might unite the students of all branches as they could take up interdisciplinary projects.
Professor Vasudeva, head of department of Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E) welcomed the gathering. Manoj T, assistant profession with the department of CS&E proposed the vote of thanks. Sushmitha Baliga, a second year CS&E student, introduced the guest. Shriraksha and Amrusha H M, students of SMVITM, rendered an invocation and compered the programme respectively.
