Udupi, 12 March 2016: Shirva branch of Corporation Bank celebrated 111st Founder’s Day of their Bank at their branch near here on Friday March 11.
The retired Professor Y Bhaskar Shetty, administrator of Vidyavardhaka education institutions, Shirva was the chief guest, said that Corp Bank that was founded by visionary entrepreneur Khan Bahadur Haji Abdulla Saheb during 1906 at Udupi with the objective of instilling saving habit among the people of different communities and also to promote communal harmony. The Bank has become a premier bank in the country. He also lauded the Shirva branch that was established in pre-Independence era for achieving a turnover of 300 crore.
