Udupi, 31 Jan 2016: The caste, religion and gender are contributing for inequalities in society. One cannot forcibly bring everything into order. The gender inequality exists because we have accepted it. The need of the hour is to focus our energies on how to alleviate from this situation, said Professor Dr M Chandra Poojary of Hampi Kannada University.
Dr Poojary was speaking after inaugurating daylong state level symposium at Mulky Sundar Ram Shetty College, near here on Saturday January 30.
Professor Dr P L Dharma of Mangalore University in his keynote address said that the reservation is not only the solution for women empowerment. The gender relations, caste and religion are unequal, said Dr Dharma.
