Mangaluru, 05 Jan 2016: The five-hundred-meter approach road from Melkar to Tokkottu will be upgraded to four-lane, said state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking during the meeting of district/taluk officers and local residents on developing intersection of road at Melkar, near here on Monday January 4.
‘The state government has released Rs 2 crore already for developing the road and tender process has already completed. The foundation will be laid for the works on January 5, to widen the road to 500 meter from Melkar to Marnabail junction and 1.5 kilometer road will be developed for two-way traffic,’ said minister Rai.
Dakshina Kannada district SP Dr Sharanappa, ADC Kumar, ZP deputy secretary N R Umesh, deputy divisional officer Dr Ashok, PWD superintending engineer Kantaraju, Tahsildar Purandar and others were present.
