Udupi, 09 Dec 2015: The late Dr K R Venkatakrishna who was a popular medical practitioner for nearly 60 years in Shirva near here served humanity with humility, said Dr G S Chandrashekar, managing director of Adharsh Hospital, here.
Dr Chandrashekar was speaking during the public condolence meet on the recent demise of popular medical practitioner, philanthropist and social activist Dr Venkatakrishna, held at Hotel Mandara auditorium, Shirva, near here on Tuesday December 8. The meet was organized jointly by Rotary Club – Shirva, Lions Club – Shirva, public celebration of Ganeshotsav Committee and Mahila Mandal®.
‘Dr Venkatakrishna is the role model for all who are involved in medical sphere,’ said Dr Chandrashekar.
Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest of Shirva parish said that Dr Venkatakrishna will ever remain in memory of masses because of his service.
Karnataka religious Committee member Vedamurti Kenja Sridar Tantri, public celebration of Ganeshotsav Committee president K Sundar Prabhu, Lions Club – Shirva president Wilson Rodrigues, Mahila Mandala® president Babita Aras, Dr Prakash Bhat and others were present.
Rotary Club – Shirva president Melvyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering and presided the meet. K R Patkar compered the programme.
The office bearers of different social welfare and voluntary organizations, general public offered floral tribute to Dr Venkatakrishna.
