Puttur, 05 Dec 2015: The theater has its own significance since the past many centuries. Meanwhile, there lies the need to hold discussions on the interest of theater in this technological era, said Puttur sub-division Assistant Commissioner Satish Kumar D M.
Satish was speaking after inaugurating thirteenth Attamutta Makkala Natakotsav – 2015 that was organized by Nirataniranta-Bahuvachanam, in association with town council and taluk working journalists Association at Town Hall, here on Friday December 4 evening.
‘The families involved in theater know its significance, while one got to explore the interest of people spending their major part of their life in front of computers,’ said Satish.
The theater artiste Mahabaleshwar Hebbar was the chief guest, said that theater has the speciality in conveying the message to fellowmen, which has sustained it. Meanwhile, the relevance is questionable in IT and BT era.
Ramakrishna High School correspondent Hemanat Shetty Kavu, town councilor Rajesh Bannur was present.
The retired headmaster Sridar Rai welcomed the gathering. Nirataniranta theater troupe member journalist Samsuddin Sampya compered the programme. The theater director Mounesh Vishwakarma proposed vote of thanks.
The veteran theater artiste I K Boluvar was presented with memento on the same occasion.
Earlier, Bilikaria Koogu, Kannada play was presented by the students of Ramakrishna High School theater group, directed by I K Boluwar.
Karadi, Kannada play directed by K G Krishnamurti was presented by Kinnara Mela theater troupe before the inaugural function.
