Karkal, 24 Nov 2015: We got to encourage children’s activities. The children had to give equal importance to their studies along with non-curricular activities. One should be pray and respect elders and teachers. The quality education is essential in shaping bright future of children, said Fr Lawrence B D’Souza.
Fr Lawrence was speaking during the annual day celebrations of St Joseph’s High School, Belman, near here on Monday November 23.
Manisha Shalini Mascarenhas who passed SSLC with highest marks was felicitated on the same occasion.
PHC medical officer Dr Satish, senior teacher B Pundalika Marate, Shirva parish council vice president Gregory Menezes, school betterment Committee president Sasindra Shetty were the chief guests present.
The school pupil leader Shravya was present at the dais.
The designated head teacher Anita Kamalini presented the annual report. The prizes were distributed to the winners of different competitions. The teacher Chandrashekar welcomed the gathering. The physical education teacher Haridas Prabhu compered the programme. The teacher Laila Noronha proposed vote of thanks.
The students presented variety cultural shows as part of entertainment programme.
