Mangaluru, 05 Nov 2015: DCP (law and order) K. Shantharaju and team conducted a major search of the prison after clash broke between two groups resulting in the murder of two undertrials.
More than 50 police personnel involved in the search operation which went for five hours. 16 mobile phones, 8 sim cards, 7 memory cards, 10 cellphone chargers, 6 knives, mobile batteries, electric wire, cutting pliers, lighters, electrical testers, chilli powder and other implements have been found during the search.
City police chief S. Murugan said police recovered four knives and a dagger used by the five accused who fatally assaulted Madoor Isubu and his aide Ganesh Shetty on Monday, November 2. While Isubu was stabbed 40 times, Ganesh Shetty died due to a blow inflicted on his head by a blunt weapon, police said.
