Puttur, 25 Oct 2015: The valedictory function of national workshop on Quantum Mechanics and Applications that was organized by Post Graduate department of physics, St Philomena College, here was held at College auditorium, on Wednesday October 21.
Professor Dr H S Mani of department of physics, Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai delivered the valedictory address. He said, ‘Teaching and learning are oriented to examinations. Teachers are also concerned with preparing students for examinations. Necessary time and atmosphere to have academic development is absent.’
Professor B Jayarama Suvarna, former head of department of physics, St Philomena College was the chief guest.
Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairperson, Centre for PG Studies and Research, St Philomena College presided the function.
The resource persons of the workshop Professor Dr M V Satyanarayana of IIT, Chennai; Professor Dr Aravind of IISER, Mohali; Dr Vincent Mathew, chairman of department of physics, Central University of Kerala; Professor Dr Vishnu Mayya Bannur of department of physics, University of Calicut, Kerala were present on the occasion.
Dr A P Radhakrishna, head of department of physics welcomed the gathering. Dr E Deepak D’Silva, co-ordinator of PG studies in physics proposed the vote of thanks. Sowmya M S compered the programme.
