Bantwal, 06 Oct 2015: The people of Dakshina Kannada district benefit more in owning land under Land Tribunal Act, legalization of encroached government lands and housing sites for homeless and other state benefits, besides maximum number of applications are received from Dakshina Kannada under 94 C, said Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating the programme of distribution of waiver of loans under rural housing project and meeting of its beneficiaries, held at Rangoli auditorium, here on Monday October 4. It was jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, Bantwal taluk panchayat and gram panchayts under Bantwal legislative assembly constituency.
The major development had taken place in the state soon after CM Siddaramaia-led government was formed. The total number of 1,496 beneficiariesout of 33 gram panchayats in Bantwal legislative assembly constituency has been issued with loan waiver papers, said minister Rai.
Annabhagya project has been introduced with the objective of creating hunger-free Karnataka. CM Siddaramaiah-led state administration has waived loans that are borrowed from different state-owned bodies, said minister Rai. He further said, the former PM Indira Gandhi nationalized the banks when it was favoring the capitalists. The title deeds will be issued to applications that are received under 94 C from the people in Bantwal taluk in 2 to 3 months, added minister Rai.
The taluk panchayat president Yashwant Deraje lauded the state government for waiving the loans under housing project.
