Puttur, 09 Sep 2015: ‘Best human personality refers not only the well-maintained, attractive physical stature but also it comprises of sound mind, good attitude, professional outlook combined with appropriate value system. People need to enhance their capabilities so as to be well equipped to face the challenges of their daily life. It is hard to admit the fact that today’s youth are exhibiting suicidal tendencies even for insignificant reasons. We need to know and understand the hardened life of our fellow citizens when we really feel distressed even when we have many things to appreciate in our life. Sessions like this are need of the hour as these workshops prepare students to be successful professionals in their future life,’ said Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairperson of PG Studies, St Philomena College here.
He was speaking after inaugurating one-day workshop on personality development, organized by PG department of social work, St Philomena College, here on Monday September 7.
Dr Robert Clive, Associate Professor, Clossland College, Brahmavara, Udupi and also a renowned soft skills trainer delivered expert lecture with different group activities throughout the session. He dealt with the concepts such as developing good attitude, ways to imbibe professional traits, soft skills to enhance employability as well as skills considered necessary to achieve success in daily life. Workshop was well structured and conducted with full of interactive activities.
Professor Prasanna Kumar, co-ordinator of MSW department welcomed the gathering. In his preliminary address, he stressed on the significance of personality development workshops for budding social workers in the pursuit of producing promising future professionals and good citizens as well.
The programme started with the opening prayer by Shravya. Soumya Bhat introduced the resource person. Harshini proposed vote of thanks. Deepika compered the programme.
