Karkal, 05 Sep 2015: The teacher is the one who encourages his/her students to unravel their inherent talent and instills human values with cultural traits. Teaching is noble profession indeed, said Fr Lawrence B D’Souza.
Fr D’Souza was speaking during Teachers Day celebrations of St Joseph’s Kannda and English Medium School held at the school auditorium, Belman, near here on Friday September 4.
The students offered floral bouquet to the teachers on the occasion.
The School head teacher Sr Lucy Pereira, senior teacher B Pundalika Marate, spoke on the bond of teachers and students and congratulated the students.
The convent superior Sr Usha Stella, teachers Juliana Moras, Lilly D’Souza, Vincent Pinto, Harshendra Kumar Jain, Lavina Pinto, Divya, Jyoti Devadiga, senior teacher Janet D’Souza, Gayatri Bhat, Disha Devadiga, Shanta Devadiga, Sarita Noronha, Pricilla Misquit, Pratima D’Souza, Supreeta Paula, Kishori Devadiga, Sunanda Salian were present at the dais.
The School pupil leader Pooja Salian explained the importance of Teachers Day celebration. Sharanya U Shetty welcomed the gathering. Janet Mathias compered the programme. Shreya proposed vote of thanks.
The students held different competitions for the teachers and prizes were distributed to the winners. The students presented variety cultural shows as part of entertainment programme.
