Puttur, 27 Aug 2015: The department of Computer Science, Centre for PG Studies and Research, St Philomena College, here organized the inaugural function of Computer Science Forum and fresher’s day here recently.
Dr Antony P J, chief guest of the programme, inaugurated the Computer Science Forum and expressed his views about the importance of creativity and advised the students to have a proper planning in every work they undertake. It is also important that the students need to understand and visualize the idea about what they have to do. He also mentioned some of the qualities like leadership, time management, planning, activeness, questioning, which students must inculcate in their education period.
Professor Leo Noronha, principal of the College was the guest of honor of the event. He expressed the need of the forum and its usefulness.
Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro in his presidential address said, ‘Human beings must be able to control the machines and machines should not control human beings.’
HOD of Computer Science Govinda Prakash and other faculty members were present.
After the formal function, IInd year MSc (Computer Science) students celebrated fresher’s day for first year MSc (Computer Science) students.
