Bantwal, 20 Jul 2015: The torrential rains that has been lashing since Saturday July 18 night caused floods from Netravati River that has reached 7.5 meters. The danger level is being 8.5 meters. The rising floods inundated low-lying areas of Aladka, Panemangaluru, Jakribettu, Baddakatte and other villages. The boats are readied to ferry people to safety, in case the flood levels further rises. ‘The home guards and fire brigade has been advised to be on standby duty,’ said Bantwal Tahsildar Purandar Hegde.
Rivulet flooded main road in Kudtamuger
The traffic was disrupted owing to bloated rivulet at Kudtamuger in Vittal. The gushing waters inundated the main road from Salettoor to Kudtamuger. The traffic towards Salettoor – Konaje – Mangaluru has come to standstill.
Farmlands in Anantady inundated
The farmland in low-lying areas of Mameshwar in Anantady village near here has been inundated owing to torrential rains.
