Karkal, 17 Jul 2015: There is no yardstick for social service. Helping fellowmen in time of his great need being in our profession may be a life saver. We would be boon to the world, if we help our fellowmen in difficulty despite our own struggles. Rotary is the ideal platform for those who are willing to be involved in social service, said Rotary district former assistant governor B Shekar Shetty.
Shekar was speaking during installation of new office bearers of Rotary Club of Nitte, near here on Thursday July 16 held at Nitte Engineering College Nitte, here.
Shekar administered the oath to the new president Barady Panduranga Shetty, secretary Dr Sasikant and other members on the occasion.
The zonal assistant governor Katpady Satyendra Pai released the bulletin ‘Nirupa’ during the programme. The zonal Commandant Kedinje Suryakant Shetty congratulated the new office bearers.
Vijaya Bank – Nitte branch manager Madhusudan Pai, Nitte Engineering College lecturer K V S Sairam, Professor Roshan Fernandes were the new members joined Rotary on the same occasion.
Rotary Club – Nitte president Yogish Hegde presided the programme and welcomed the gathering. Ramesh Mittantaya read the annual report. N Tukaram Shetty, Professor Raghunandan, Prashant Kumar K, Satish Kumar, Anil Kumar and Vishnumurti introduced the dignitaries.
The talented students Sanjana Chiplunkar, Anjali and Venugopal were felicitated on the occasion. Arvind Kumar compered the programme. The new secretary Sasikant proposed vote of thanks.
