Belle: Feast of Patron Saint observed by St. Thomas II Ward

Udupi/M’Belle, 05 Jul 2015: St. Thomas II Ward members celebrated the feast of their patron saint on Sunday, 5 July 2015 at 12 noon at the residence of Ignatius Monis (Actual feast day was 3 July). Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, the parish priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle was the chief guest.

 

Those members of the ward whose birthday falls in the month of July along with Mrs. Eveline Monis (Mother of Ignatius Monis) was celebrated by cutting the cake.

 

Mrs. Nancy Alva, Representative of the Ward read the report of last activities conducted last year.

 

 

In his message, Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas briefly traced the life and mission of St. Thomas and stressed on the ‘faith’ that was expressed by St. Thomas. He appreciated the fact that quite a large number of ward members were present for the celebration the feast of their patron saint.

 

Elric Castelino and later a group of children presented songs which were appreciated by all.

 

Mrs. Thereza Alva, Gurkarn of the ward welcomed the gathering, Ashwitha Saldanha compeered the programme and Peter D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
