Udupi: Maundy Thursday and Good Friday observed in St. Antony’s Church, Kuntalnagar

Udupi, 03 Apr 2015: Maunday Thursday and Good Friday, the two important days in the Holy Week were observed with great devotion in St. Antony’s Church, Kuntalnagar.

 

Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa and Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza concelebrated the solemn Maundy Thursday Mass.

 

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes emphasized on the importance of vocations for priesthood and religious life. He made an appeal to the people to pray for the priests.

 

 

Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa washed the feet of the representatives from different wards in commemoration of the washing of the feet of his disciples by Jesus Christ on during the Last Supper.

 

Following the end of the mass, the Holy Eucharist was taken to the altar of repose where adoration was conducted.

 

 

The Good Friday devotion was organized on 3 April 2015 with the Way of the Cross at 4.30 pm organized by the ICYM and YCS members.

 

The Good Friday service inside the church was conducted by  Rev. Fr. Wilson Saldanha from Fr. Muller’s Hospital, Mangalore.
