Bantwal, 20 Mar 2015: BJP activists staged protest here on Thursday March 19 morning, against the apathy of state administration and health department for the snail’s phase of ongoing construction works of Government Hospital. The works are underway to upgrade 30-beded state-run hospital to 100-bed for over 8 years.
The protesters cautioned to picket state health and DK district-in-charge minister if the works are not completed within 3 months.
Addressing the protester, BJP state vice president Sulochana G K Bhat mocked at state health minister who is gaining publicity in media by visiting state-run hospital, but unaware of the state of state-run hospital in Bantwal.
BJP Bantwal president G Anand said that state-run hospital here does not have drinking water facility, no forensic experts for conducting autopsy, etc.
ZP former vice president M Tungappa Bangera said that its the shame on district-in-charge minister for the snail’s phase of works at state-run hospital here.
The protest was called off only when district health and family welfare officer Dr Ramakrishna Rao assured them that the works will be completed by 3 months. The taluk health officer Dr Manjunat was also present.
BJP leader Rajesh Naik Ulipadyguttu, former MLA Padmanabha Kottary, ZP member Chennappa Kotian, TP president Yashwant Deraje, Anand Shamboor, Devappa Poojary, Krishnappa Poojary, Devdas Shetty, Govind Prabhu, Bhaskar Tailor, Krishnappa Poojary, Dinesh Bhandary, Purushottam Salian and others were present.
