Mangaluru, 11 Mar 2015: At the joint aegis of DK district Legal Services Authority, Bar Association and Rama Kshatriya Mahila Vrunda, Jeppu, here, International Women’s Day was celebrated at Rama Kshatriya Mandir, Jeppu, here on Tuesday March 10.
The sixth additional district and munsif judge S H Pushpanjali Devi after inaugurating the programme said, ‘Although women was given due importance in ancient times, they are being oppressed because of poverty and male-dominated society. Meanwhile, woman in modern times have proved that they are good in almost every spheres. The statistics proves the point. The acknowledging the achievement of extraordinary women will inspire more women to excel in their chosen spheres,’ said Pushpanjali.
Speaking on the occasion, DK district Legal Services Authority secretary Ganesh B said that there were extraordinary women in the ancient times, while in modern times, they are ahead in almost every sphere competing with men. There lies nothing impossible for women. Meanwhile, as the humans are shunning humanity threatening women and girls who ought to be mentally prepared to protect themselves from such evil men, said Ganesh.
The women achievers in different spheres were felicitated on the same occasion.
Bar Association president S P Chengappa, Rama Kshatriya Sangh president G K Rao, Varija were present. Rama Kshatriya Mahila Vrunda president Shalini Ramachandra presided the programme.
