Bantwal, 28 Jan 2015: A department official who arrived from Bengaluru to inspect the works that was undertaken under National Rural Employment Guarantee programme in Ninyaru which comes at the limits of Pilatabettu gram panchayat, near here, suffered cardiac arrest and passed away on Tuesday January 27.
The deceased has been identified as fifty-five-year-old Gururaj M Jambalagi, a native of Belagavi in Uttar Kannada district.
Gururaj along with other officers arrived at Pilatabettu gram panchayat office, near here and inspected the different works that are undertaken under National Rural Employment Guarantee programme and was walking towards the vehicle when he collapsed on the road.
Gururaj’s colleagues first have taken him to primary health centre in Punjalkatte, near here where the doctors given him first aid and taken to Bantwal community health center, whilst on the way Gururaj breathed his last, its learned.
The autopsy was done at Bantwal community health centre and the police registered a case in this regard.
Bantwal TP president Yashwant Deraje, ZP deputy secretary N R Umesh, TP chief executive officer Cyprian Miranda, Manju Vittal and others visited the hospital.
