Bantwal, Dec 17, 2014: The motion was set for fourteen-day Tulu script study camp that was organized by Bantwal taluk unit of Yuvavahini in association with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, at Samartya Souda of taluk panchayat, here on Tuesday December 16.
TP president Yashawant Deraje inaugurated the training camp and conveyed best wishes.
The block education officer Sheshashayana Karinja was the chief guest said that a few schools in the taluk will be chosen to encourage both students and teachers in learning Tulu script.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member D M Kulal said that it was proposed to maintain continuity in organizing Tulu script study camps involving students of schools and PU colleges, said Kulal.
ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty, councilor Vasanti Chandappa, members Vasu Poojary, Gangadhar, Jagdish Kundar, Lokesh, Chanchalakshi, Yuvavahini president Nagesh Ponnody, Mayilappa Salian, Panemangaluru block Congress president Abbas Ali, Sangabettu gram panchayat former president Prabhakar Prabhu, Dr Serra, Niloji Rao, Yuvavahini central Committee president Premanat Kotian and others were present.
The banner of Tulu alphabets was unveiled on the same occasion.
Bantwal taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president B Tammayya was the resource person welcomed the gathering. Sridar Amin proposed vote of thanks. Manju Vittal compered the programme.
The camp will conclude on December 28.
