Mangaluru, 28 Nov 2014: In a recent development in the interfaith wedding of a student and a bus conductor, the parents of Insha Khalil of Ullal have filed a habeas corpus to find their missing daughter.
Insha Khalil, a resident of Kotekar had eloped with Bharath Raj, a resident of Ira in Mudipu on November 19. They had tied the knot on November 23 in Mysuru. The duo sent a letter to a newspaper office pleading that they should be let free. They also threatened of committing suicide if any attempts to trace them were initiated.
The parents of Insha who had filed a kidnap case against Bharat Raj in Ullal police station have now filed habeas corpus in the court to find their daughter.
Someshwar Gram Panchyat member Latha and her husband Anand and two others from the Panchayat were summoned by the Ullal police after they had reportedly become the witnesses to the marriage at the Registrar’s office. Protesting against it, the members of Someshwar Gram Panchayat had picketed the Ullal station on Sunday.
