Bantwal, Oct 21, 2014: The modern theater groups had to innovate on the changed interests of audiences and strive on human virtues bringing home universal message to all sections of people in the society, said Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member D M Kulal.
Kulal was speaking during the valedictory function of 3-day workshop on Tulu theater, jointly organized by Murugendra Mitra Mandali, Punjalkatte, here and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy here on Sunday October 19.
The theater artistes should foster the relationship of master and pupil, humble and always ever eager to learn and gain mastery over profession, said Kulal.
The resource person - veteran theater expert Jagan Pawar Bekal said that theater helps in promoting peace in society. It also enhances personality and human relations. Theater is not limited to longstanding artistes. The experience unravels in acting. Theater indeed helps youth in exploring creating and personality development, said Bekal.
The veteran theater artiste P K Tailor, Manju Vittla, Pilatabettu gram panchayat member Chandrashekar Shetty, Murugendra Mitra Mandali honorary president Ramesh Moolya, president Santosh Moorje, Murugendra Vanita Samaj president Uma D Gowda, resource person theater artiste Ratnadev Punjalkatte, theater director B R Anchan were present.
Jagan Bekal was felicitated by Mitra Mandali on the same occasion. The camp participants Kiran and Sisir shared their camp experiences.
Mitra Mandali former president Harischandra Shettigar welcomed the gathering. The secretary Ravindra Shetty Anilade proposed vote of thanks. The teacher Uday Kumar Shetty compered the programme.
Enklenappe Netravati, Tulu skit on the perils of conversion of lifeline Netravati River was staged by the camp participants on the occasion.
