Puttur, Oct 09, 2014: The members of Suraksha Consumer Forum and National Service Scheme NSS) unit of St Philomena College, participated in Swachh Bharat campaign at ward number 19 here on October 2.
Fr Mathew Sanni Alapat, rector of Santhom Guru Mandira - Mukrampady launched the campaign here on October 2.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Mathew said that Mahatma Gandhi was aware of the pathetic situation of India’s rural people at that time and he dreamt of clean India where he emphasized on cleanliness and sanitation as an integral part of living. Therefore, it is high time that the students of St Philomena College have taken interest and initiative to make ‘Puttur city – a clean city’.
The College vice principal Professor Vishnu Bhat, Vijaya Bank former managers Gangadhar Rai and Chandrahas Rai, Prakash Mukrampady, Chandrahasa Rai, economics Professor Pradeep, commerce Professor Dhanya have extended their co-operation in making this Abhiyan a successful one.
This campaign was organized under the guidance of Suraksha Consumer Forum director Professor Dinakara Rao and NSS co-ordinator Professor Nagaraju.
