Karkal, 2 Oct 2014: At the joint auspices of Rotary Club International (RCI) Belman, St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lalbahadur Shastri was celebrated and motion was set for PM Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat Abhiyan here on Thursday October 2.
The senior teacher B Pundalika Marate administered oath to the students on Swacch Bharat campaign on the occasion.
RCI – Belman founder secretary Vignesh Shenoy was the chief guest conveyed best wishes for the campaign.
The senior teacher Juliana Moras, Convent superior Sr Usha Stella were present at the dais.
RCI – Belman director Nerri Pinto, members Jitesh Kanchan, Manjunat Acharya, Vincent Pinto, Laveena Pinto and Harshendra Kumar were present.
The certificates were distributed to the students who have undergone yoga classes held by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Shantivana Trust.
Jenita Andrade welcomed the gathering. Basavaraj explained the significance of Gandhi Jayanti. Ajay Devadiga proposed vote of thanks. The teacher Lilly D’Souza, Divya and Neha Nayak compered the programme.
The students volunteered to clean the school premises on the occasion.
