Karkal, 08 Aug 2014: At the changing times, influence of internet, visual and e-media, fast food culture, mothers disliking Indian culture, lack of cultured upbringing has direct effects on the growing children. The oblivious of mother’s leadership in families, the ills in society are increasing, said the renowned Konkani columnist and poet Alwyn Danti Pernal.
Alwyn was the resource persons speaking during parents-teachers meet held at St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Belman, near here on Thursday August 7.
Alwyn offered info on the recent kidnapping cases of children, sexual abuse, depression, the role of parents – teachers in quality education.
The teacher Vincent Pinto in his introductory address said that the changing education system, continuous and extensive evaluation are the causes for the students to be backward in studies. He stressed upon the need of parents positive response in this regard.
Belman parish council vice president and school alma mater honorary president Gregory Menezes presided the programme.
The head teacher Sr Monica was present at the dais.
The teacher Lilly D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The teacher B Pundalika Marate compered the programme.
