Karkal, Jul 21, 2104 : The incessant rains pose the threat of landslide on Kaje – Marigudi road in Mundkoor village. The barrier wall along the access road to Kaje – Mahamayee temple has already developed cracks, an imminent threat major landslide, if the rain continues.
Kaje – Marigudi road is a shortest route to reach Mundkoor, Saccheripete and Moodbidri. Hundreds of vehicles ply daily on this road. Besides, thousands of devotees come to offer puja at the historically famous Marigudi temple on every Tuesdays. The locals fear major landslide covering the Marigudi temple, if the rains persist. They urge the village council to take early precautionary measures in this regard.
The local gram panchayat member Sridar Sanil offered assurances of concreting the fault zone under Natural Calamities Fund, by seeking funds from district administration and zilla panchayat.
