Mangalore, Jul 15, 2014 : The Dakshina Kannada DC A B Ibrahim here on Monday July 14 issued orders to LPG cylinder distributors to deliver the cylinders to individual consumers only deliver after weighing for net weight.
DC Ibrahim was addressing the gathering during Training program to confirm the weight of the cylinder that was organized by Rotary Club International (RCI) in association with district administration at DC office here on Monday.
DC Ibrahim said, ‘Supreme Court (SC) has clearly instructed that the LPG cylinders have to be weighed before delivery and its the duty of every distributor to follow the order. The distributors have to provide weighing machines to the staff to facilitate this.’
When the staff of the LPG distributors expressed their inability to weigh the cylinder when there is a shortage of staff, the DC instructed the distributors to sort out the issue and never miss on weighing the cylinder.
DC Ibrahim took the distributors to the task when LPG consumers who were present informed about additional money demanded by delivery money.
The public representatives urged the distributors to hike wages of delivery men to stop demanding from LPG consumers.
DC Ibrahim said that LPG consumers will have to pay only the amount that is printed in the receipt and if the delivery men demands more then one has to call the number printed in the receipt to lodge a complaint in this regard.
