Udupi, 15 Jul 2014: The final year B Com student Patricia D’Sa of St Mary’s College, Shirva near here shared here 35-days London tour that she took during her summer holidays. She explained her stay in details, the beautiful roads, cleanliness, the navigator system in the car that directs the route when one types on the keyboard. She also observed the collapsible steps that are found in London buses for easy accessibility for elderly to board and alight.
The literary union and Kannada department of St Mary’s College, Shirva organized this interactive meet with Patricia.
Patricia further said that the British children go away to live separately once they reach 18 years of age. Therefore, the parents often rear pets at home. Patricia also said that a Brit lady living next door told her that she had spent Rs 70,000 to treat jaundice of her pet cat. Patricia was not comfortable to see both Brit boys and girls mix freely. She has likened the discipline and law abiding citizens.
St Mary’s College principal Professor V N Rajan commended the courage of Patricia to explore London on her own.
Dr Padmanabha Bhat was also present on the occasion.
