St. John the Baptist Ward II celebrates the feast of patron

Udupi/Moodubelle, 01 Jul  2014 : The members of St. John the Baptist War II celebrated the fest of their patron saint on Sunday, 29 June 2014 at 12 noon at the residence of  Mrs. Leena D’Souza, Marne. Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of St. Lawrence PU College presided over the function. Other guests included Fr. Roshan D’Souza-assistant parish priest, Sr. Wilma, Alphonse K. Alva and Mrs. Emilia Noronha-vice president and secretary of PPC and Ignatius Monis-convener of SCC.

 

Mrs. Delma Mendonca welcomed the guests, secretary of the ward, Mrs. Monica D’Almeida  read the report of the ward. Those members whose birthday was in the month of June cut the cake.

 

 

Children of the ward presented an episode from the Gospel “Prodigal Son” through skit.  Mrs. Veena Rebello conducted few games for the children. Mrs. Gladys Rebello was felicitated for her service as the Gurkarn of the ward and being elected as the president of the Catholic Sabha.

 

In his message, Fr. Paul Sequeira extended the greetings of the feast to the members of the ward and said that with unity and cooperation members can solve any problems that face them.

 

Vote of thanks  was proposed by the Gurkarn of the ward-Mrs. Eliza Mendonca and the programme was compeered by Miss Leeta Aranha.
