Karkal, Jun 7, 2014 : Rajapura Saraswat Brahmana Sangha ®, Palli, near here held their annual day celebration and distribution of free books to the needy students at Umamaheshwari temple, Adapady, near here on Friday June 6.
Umamaheshwari, Durgaparameshwari temple managing trustee Pundalika Nayak inaugurated the programme here on Fridaymorning.
Speaking on the occasion, Pundalika urged the community youth to take active role in the Sangh as that was the need of the hour.
Rajapura Saraswat Credit Co-operative Bank manager Surendra Nayak, retired teacher Belle Padmanabha Nayak was the chief guest distributed free books to the needy students on the occasion.
Hirgana – Laxmipura temple priest Vedamurti Ramanand Bhat presided the programme and briefed on the background of religious practices and traditions followed by Rajapura Saraswat community since ancient times.
Jyoti Borkar welcomed the gathering. Ananya rendered the prayers. The Sangh president Ranjit Bhat introduced the achievers. Vishnuprasad Bhat introduced the dignitaries. The secretary Pradeep Prabhu compered the programme.
