Karkal, 26 Mar 2014: Haridas Prabhu, who is serving as physical traiing instructor and NCC officer at St Joseph’s high School, Belman bagged Karnataka Chief Minister’s Honorary Award, for his extraordinary service for the past fifteen years.
Haridas began working as physical training instructor at St Joseph’s High School during 1985 and set up NCC unit at the school during 1997. He was recognized by NCC Commission on March 1 1999. He has undergone special training in NCC at Nagpur during 1998 – 99, 2001 and 2006. He has attended 15 camps in 15 years of service so far. He also served as troop officer in Karnataka battalion 147/21. He has also undergone NCC special rejuvenation camp at Nagpur from March 31 to April 26 2014.

Haridas accepted the award from Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, in the presence NCC commanding officer Colonel B S Givari, Colonel Menon and troop officers at Bangalore on Friday March 21.
Mangalore group Commander S R Sriram presented the congratulatory letter and conveyed best wishes to Haridas.
