The key objective of Rotary is to bring about changes in the society by humanitarian deeds, said Rotary district governor Gururaj S.
Gururaj was speaking after felicitating the distinguished achievers of different spheres during a function held at SVS Pre-University College, Katpady, near here on Tuesday March 2. The governor Gururaj was on official visit to Rotary Club, Katpady.
Guruaj felicitated Vanaja Poojary who works voluntarily at the crematorium at Beedinagudde, near here; retired soldier Keshav Achar, social activist Vishwanat, youngest drummer Abhin Devadiga on the same occasion.
The farming accessories were presented to poor daily wagers.
The zonal commandant Jagannat Kote and zonal assistant governor Madhav Suvarna was present at the dais.
Shobha Shenoy rendered the prayers. Rotary Club president Harish Rao welcomed the gathering. The secretary Alwyn Saldanha read the annual report. Giridar Shetty, Srikar Anchan, Wilfred Lewis, Jagdish Kamat, Santosh Shetty, Sudhir Bangera and Ramesh Bhandary introduced the dignitaries. Sandhya Bolawar proposed vote of thanks.
