Mangalore, 01 Feb 2014: The Dakshina Kannada (DK) district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai on Friday January 30 night viewed the smooth traffic at the signal-free Hampankatta which was newly-introduced by city police.
The minister Ramanath expressed happiness over the traffic-free arrangement that was introduced by the city police. He also instructed civic authorities to beautify the Hamankatta circle.
‘The motorists and general public will face difficulties initially owing to the traffic arrangement,’ said minister Ramanath. He urged the general public to co-operate in this regard.
The minister Ramanath advised the municipal commissioner to chalk-out plans either to build a flyover or underpass at Hampankatta circle which would further improve the traffic.
DK Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, municipal commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde, ACP Uday Nayak and others were present on the occasion.
