Mangalore, Jan 30, 2014 : The students who are empowered with education ought to strive in bringing about social equality, because education institutions play a key role in eradicating inequalities among poor and rich, gender, urban and rural backgrounds, said Bibhash Kumar Srivastav, managing director of Corporation Bank.
Srivastav was speaking during the annual day celebrations of Besant Women’s College, here recently.
Srivastav expressed concern over lack of honesty prevails in every sphere in the nation. The education institutions indeed teach moral values that are essential in work place. The students embodied with moral values is conducive to nation development, said Srivastav.
‘The involvement of women in different spheres is minimal when compared to men. Its also essential that conducive environment is the need of the hour for the self confident educationally-empowered women to succeed in public life,’ stressed Srivastava. He commended the major contributions of Besant Women’s College, in empowering women of different communities to strive for social equality.
Women’s National Education Society chairman Kudpi Jagdish Shenoy presided the programme.
The College past students’ union president Tasmiya Kousar, students’ union leader Niharika, secretary Sushmita Achar were present at the dais.
The prizes were distributed to the talented students on the same occasion.
