Udupi, 16 Dec 2013: The human relations are eroding in the twenty-first century. The sectarian elements are thriving and suspicious nature of people in the society that has turned into materialistic over the years, causing eroding of human relations. The joint families are turned into nuclear families and further strained the human relations that flourished in the past. The influence of electronic media caused the new generation to disregard moral values, love and care of family. At this outset, the parents have greater responsibility in caring for their children, said Professor Balakrishna Shetty, principal of Sri Durgaparameshwari Pre-University College, Kateel, here.
Professor Shetty was delivering a keynote address on Human relations during ‘Darbar – 2013’ Lions Club International (LCI) zonal convention that was organized by LCI – Manchakal, Shirva, at Monis Complex, Shirva, near here on Sunday December 15.
LCI zonal speaker G Ronald Menezes presided the function here on Sunday.
LCI zonal first lady Helen R Menezes inaugurated the convention.
LCI district governor Alwyn Patrick Patrao was the chief guest of the occasion.
LCI district assistant governors Suresh Governor Suresh Prabhu and Sridar Shenava were felicitated on the same occasion.
The teacher Gilbert Pinto hoisted the national flag.
