Puttur, 06 Nov 2013: Owing to alleged derogatory post published on Facebook against Lord Ram and Sita by Jaffer, Bidar district commissioner, Janardhan Poojary, former union minister, has urged Karnataka chief minister to dismiss him for power immediately.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, November 6, he said, “The commissioner has committed a blunder which cannot be forgiven. It is a shame on the part of a person who has written IAS exam and taken the oath of protecting secularism and constitution to post such a message. It is a crime to propagate a disturbing message as such against spiritual powers who are being worshipped by a section of people.”
Responding to Pramod Mutalik’s (leader if a Hindutva outfit) statement where he cautioned he will chop the commissioner’s tongue, Poojary said, “Jaffer cannot be excused. However the statement made by Mutalik is also offensive. Whatever the crime is, action should be taken abiding by the law. Hence Mutalik must also be punished .”
A. Hemanth, Lancy Mascharenhas, U. Lokesh Hegde and P. Sathish Naik, congress leaders, were present among others.
