Padubidri, 21 June 2010: The examination evaluation process has been reduced to comedy of errors once again.
In this particular case, Nitte PU College science student Saudhamini Bhat was expecting a centum in II PU Maths. To her shock, she had scored just 37. She applied for revaluation and for photo copy of her answer script on May 19.
Now, the PU Board has informed her college that she has scored 97 in Maths. Luckily enough, her College had given her provisional marks card to attend in the medical counselling and she got a seat in Mandya Government Medical College.
For Saudhamini, it is not the first time she is undergoing such an injustice in the hands of evaluators. She had a similar experience in her SSLC exam when she scored a mere 48 in Social Science. Revaluation showed she had scored 98. As per rules, the department has to return the money paid for revaluation if there is any mistake in the valuation. However, two years after the SSLC episode, she is yet to receive the money.
“I have been meted out with injustice for which I have undergone mental torture and loss of money. The department should return my DD which I had sent for revaluation as per the rules. I am seeking justice from the PU Board,” she said with tears in her eyes.
