Hassan: Narasimharaja Aras performs Traditional Rites to conclude Vijaya Dashami

Hassan, 14 Oct 2013: Navaratri celebrations were concluded on festival of Vijaya Dashami on Monday October 14 evening, by silting plantain pulp as per the tradition.

 

The idols of Mailaralingeshwar, Channakeshav, Viroopaksha, Anjaneya and Siddeshwar gods were taken in a procession along Salagrama road here till the historical Banni mantap, while as per the tradition, Narasimharaja Aras silted the plantain pulp, to conclude Vijaya Dashami celebrations.  Aras follows fasting for 3 days and offers puja to the sword in every year for the task.

 

 

Speaking to media persons, Aras said that he has been devoutly performing the ritual since the past 23 years.  Meanwhile, he urged the concerned department to maintain cleanliness at the location at all times, because its just for this celebration, the place is being cleaned, urged Aras.

 

Tahsildar Manjunat said that the district administration has the plans to develop the location and also keep a close vigil at the backdrop of thriving illegal activities.  He also instructed the Urban Development Authority to sanction a housing plot to Narasimha Aras family that has been performing the religious rites since the past 23 years, said Tahsildar Manjunat.
